My Predicament reflects on my personal experiences of being a black female in today’s society. Narrow-minded perceptions of myself and of black people in general have made an impact on not only how I identify as a black person, but how I see the black community as a whole. The Purpose of this series to not only tell my story of being stereotyped, judged and put on a pedestal, but to use the images as a starting point for deeper dialogue. The hope for other Black people across the Diaspora to relate. For those who cannot relate, I hope My Predicament creates a space for others to open their eyes to another perspective.
