Activate/Agitate

This series was created as part of the group exhibition organized by the International Art Collaborations Network (INTAC)  during my participation in the course International Collaborations at OCADU. This was part of a smaller group of work titled "Return to Nature" that explored themes of nature in photography under the larger theme of Activate/Agitate.

Over the years leading up to the summer of 2020, my interest in nature was reactivated by the bugs, insects and plants outside of my home. I realized in sharing images with others that not everyone finds the existence of them fascinating but rather agitating. Through these three sequences I highlight specific areas around my house. In the exhibition each video sequence plays with audio in a loop, the interplay between foreground and background sounds and visuals is a reminder that nature can be found close to home and appreciated on smaller scales.
